Carrying without announcing it.
A tin rattles, rolls to the bottom of a bag and reads as exactly what it is. Most of that is a packaging problem rather than an inevitability.
Nothing here is about whether or where to use a pouch — that is your call and your local rules. This is only about the carrying problem: where the thing lives, whether it stays shut, and whether it looks like anything at all.
The three things that give a tin away
Sound. Loose pouches in a round tin move when you move. Individual slots hold each pouch in place, so there is nothing to rattle.
Shape. A puck-shaped tin prints a circle through a pocket and reads instantly. A flat rectangle behind a phone does not have a silhouette of its own.
Branding. Most tins carry the product's own graphics. VALT is a bare anodised block with a debossed V and nothing else on it.
Where it sits
The case is designed to live on the back of the phone, held by a MagSafe ring module and a steel flux plate bonded into the chassis. At 9.2 mm and 87 g it reads as a thick phone rather than a second object, and because it is attached it cannot migrate to the bottom of a bag.
It works off the phone too. A flat 66 × 95 mm rectangle sits in a jacket pocket, a back pocket or a laptop sleeve without the rolling problem a round tin has.
Will it open in a pocket
The lid slides either way to magnetic detents and stops there. There is no hinge, no clip and no spring, so there is nothing to catch on a pocket seam and nothing that springs open under pressure. Full dimensions and materials are on the specifications page.
The gym, the flight, the car
Training. Sweat is the issue, not impact. The case is not sealed and should not be submerged, but a wipe down is fine and the anodised surface does not mark from handling.
Flying. Pouches are subject to the rules of wherever you are landing, and some countries restrict or prohibit them outright. Check the destination before you pack, not at the gate.
Driving. The case stays on the phone, which is usually already mounted. The point of the discard tray is that a car is the hardest place to find a bin.
